O entusiasmo pela carne suína na Dinamarca é perfeitamente compreensível, uma vez que o plantel de suínos é superior à população de pessoas do país (dois porcos para uma pessoa). A suinocultura também tem importante papel no movimento econômico do país, representando 8% de tudo o que é exportado.

In a poll conducted by the Danish Ministry of Food and Agriculture with 63 thousand people, half the target audience voted the stegt flæsk as the favorite and most traditional recipe of the country. The dish consists in strips of fried bacon served with potatoes and parsley sauce.
The enthusiasm over the pork meat in Denmark is perfectly understandable, since the amount of pigs is larger than the country’s human population (two pigs for each person). The pig breeding also has an important role in the Danish economy, representing 8% of everything that is exported.
